Day Training Do you struggle to find time to train your dog, but you don't want to send your dog away for boarding? Day Training is when I come to your home to train your dog for you. This is a great alternative to board & train programs because your dog gets to spend one-on-one time with a professional dog trainer, and your dog gets to stay home with you! ​ Day training is one of the most efficient ways for your dog to learn. Training happens much faster when an experienced professional is training your dog. You wouldn't pay a piano teacher to teach YOU how to teach your child piano, so why do the same with your dog? Dogs learn faster when they are given very few chances to make mistakes. Beginner handlers tend to make so many training errors that the dog ends up developing more bad habits along the way, which ultimately slows down your progress. It is crucial that you become trained as well, but Day Training makes this a much easier process for you. Sign up here How Does Day Training Work?​ ​ First, you will receive a free assessment so you can learn about my training philosophy and see if this program is right for you. Then, we will schedule 3-4 training sessions per week for a minimum of 3 weeks. The training sessions are scheduled in the morning or early afternoon. Each session is about 45 minutes long. You will receive a transfer lesson each week so you can be brought up to speed on what your dog has been learning. Transfer lessons will help you become familiar with the training process and will allow you to confidently maintain your dog's behavior. I will also provide ongoing support to help you stay on track after your dog's day training program is complete. Day Training Rate ​ Training is between $240 - 300 per week depending on how many sessions your dog gets per week. There might be a travel fee depending on where you live. ​ After your dog has completed 3 weeks of day training, you will continue to receive the day training rate ($60 per session) for any additional private lessons that you might need. You will get personalized sessions that will help you overcome the challenges that come with having a puppy such as mouthing, potty training, and socialization. ​ Puppies benefit greatly from early socialization that takes place in the first 3 months of their life. Private Lessons My in-home private lessons are suitable for anyone who wants to improve their dog's behavior. I can help you with your dog's behavioral problems and functional obedience that will help you and your dog live a more harmonious life together. You will be given a program tailored to your dog and your lifestyle, which includes detailed instructions to help you stay o n track. ​ I recommend that you commit to at least 6 sessions to give yourself the opportunity to change your dog's life for the better. However, you may commit to as many sessions as you would like. ​ I will give you an in-depth understanding of how to train your dog as well as the psychology behind it all. There are several options for you to choose from and a trip fee may apply depending on where you live. I assume any and all responsibility for myself and my dog(s) during training, walking, and any other work with Wise Dogs, assuming due diligence and care have been exercised. I will not hold Wise Dogs, any affiliates or property owners responsible for any injuries or misfortunes (to or by me or my dog) while training, walking or any other work, should they occur. I further understand that due to the way that dogs interact with one another, cuts or scratches can occur to me, my dog, or my property and belongings, even though the dogs are carefully supervised. I also understand that my participation in any of these activities is not without risks such as tripping, falling, getting knocked down and jumped on, bitten, scratched, etc. I also understand that in enrolling my dog(s) into any of Wise Dogs programs, that Wise Dogs has relied upon my representation that my dog(s) are in good health and have received the necessary vaccinations (or equivalent alternatives) as agreed upon by my veterinarian. If my dog becomes injured or ill, Wise Dogs shall have the right to call myself and my veterinarian. In the event of an emergency and my designated veterinarian is unavailable, Wise Dogs has the right to take my dog(s) to the nearest animal hospital for immediate care. I agree to reimburse, in full, Wise Dogs for any medical expenses accrued while under the supervision of Wise Dog’s staff. Wise Dogs will not be held responsible for any decisions made by the veterinarian on the dog’s behalf. I hereby release and agree to save and hold harmless, Wise Dogs, any affiliates or property owners from any and all liability, claims, suits, actions, loss, injury or damage of any nature or kind, or for any liability, claims, suits, actions, loss, injury or damage which I or my dog(s) may sustain or which may be caused in any way by my dog(s). I specifically, without limitation, agree to fully indemnify Wise Dogs, any affiliates or property owners for any and all such liability, claims, suits, actions, losses, injury or damage. I understand that I am solely financially responsible for any damage or harm caused by my dog during training, socializing, or walking. I take it upon myself to ask questions and use my own common sense. I understand that I do not have to do anything or allow anything to be done that I do not feel comfortable with. I certify that I have read and understand the rules and regulations set forth herein and that I have read and understand this agreement. I agree to abide by the rules and regulations and accept all the terms, conditions and statements of this agreement and confirm the truthfulness of the contents of this release form completed by me. Some programs are not appropriate for all dogs. Wise Dogs reserves the right to remove or refuse a dog from any Wise Dogs programs. ​ Cancellation Policy Packages for Private Lessons and Day Training are non-refundable. However, your Private Lesson package can roll over into Day Training and vise versa if we decide that the alternate training option is a better fit for you and your dog. Unused lessons will expire if they are not used within 6 months of your most recent session. Appointments canceled or rescheduled without at least 24 hours notice will incur a fee of $50, which will need to be paid before your next lesson. Exceptions include being exposed to COVID, natural disasters, and bad weather if your session is to take place outdoors. I might have to reschedule a session if I am ill or if the roads are unsafe for traveling, such as during a snowstorm.
